KGPCo's Bob Foote Named to SCTE's Hall of Fame

On September 28, 2016, KGP’s AVP of Sales, MSO markets, Bob Foote was inducted into the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Hall of Fame.

The SCTE Hall of Fame comprises of SCTE members who, over the course of time, have made extraordinary contributions to the professional development, ideals and goals of the Society and the cable telecommunications industry.

Desi O’Grady, Director of Sales for KGPCo, "I congratulate Bob on all his contributions to the SCTE.  He is certainly among an elite group of Hall of Fame members, demonstrating the significance of his accomplishments within the industry."

Eligibility for the Hall of Fame requires a minimum of 12 years of active SCTE membership and 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Bob has been active in telecom for over 30 years. His passion for the industry, the relationships that he has developed and his desire to exceed customer expectations is evident in his reception of this honor. Bob has been a member of the Society since 1989 and is a 31-year industry veteran, also serving as the SCTE Board of Directors Chairman.

SCTE has been honoring industry professionals through their Hall of Fame since 1988. Bob joins the company of 48 other inductees who have earned this prestigious recognition over the years, including two others this year: 53-year industry veteran Steven Richey, President and CEO of 4Cable TV in Conway, S.C., and Cathy Wilson, founder and publisher of Broadband Library and industry veteran for 37 years.

Inductees are nominated by active SCTE members through a formal nomination process and require endorsement by other qualified SCTE members.

The three 2016 Hall of Fame recipients were formally recognized at 2016 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo ® in Philadelphia, PA this September.

I look at the other names that are on this list of hall of fame members and I am a bit overwhelmed. I didn’t invent anything. I didn’t publish anything. I’m one of, like many of the people in this room, one of the journeyman who contributed to the world-class networks that we have today,” said Bob, during his acceptance speech.

Bob also paid recognition to KGP and his previous employers for their support of his involvement with SCTE over the years.

Bob resides in Ipswich, Massachusetts with his wife Jan.

Congratulations Bob, your Hall of Fame recognition is very well deserved!
